I Spy

The more I look at this picture, the more I hate it… so I’m not really sure why I’m uploading it – but there you have it: my second submission for Illustration Friday. I was so excited about drawing this when I saw the topic “I Spy” but then never got around to doing it until late last night, when all I really felt like doing was vegging out in front of the TV after a hectic game of squash. It just hasn’t turned out the way I pictured it in my mind, I wanted to go for something far more simplistic and naive, but I’ve always struggled with that.

Birthday

Another year of my life has come and gone… in some ways I’m starting to feel old, but in other ways not.

Perhaps I should clarify: I don’t feel any different, any older or significantly wiser; it’s just life’s little reminders that I’m not a kid anymore (though I still feel like one on the inside), for example, I can no longer jump on a trampoline for 30 straight minutes and there are certain after effects such as muscle pain and back ache (that never used to happen); or meeting people who are no longer in school, but are still a good few years younger than myself.

Then again, all that doesn’t matter if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t consider jumping on a trampoline, watching cartoons, or acting a little crazy every now & then to be undignified, uncouth behaviour.

It’s all relative. And as long as I keep getting presents, I don’t care how old I get – bring on the birthdays!

My First Ever Post

Hey there and welcome to my blog! This is my first ever post, so forgive me if it’s a little worse than boring, but I’m kinda excited about the whole idea so I don’t really care   I’m writing this blog & you’re not, so you will listen to every damn word I have to say!…. Haha, just kidding.

Hopefully I will have something more interesting to say later on, but for now you can check out my last submission to the Illustration Friday website. Unfortunately I linked it to my myspace page – which is incredibly dissappointing because you can’t view the pic unless you’re a logged in member (I only found this out afterwards and was unable to change the link, alas!
